The blue peel radiance is a gentle yet effective peel consisting or a unique blend of acids that is suitable for all skin types. This light chemical peel can be used to improve a range of skin concerns such as photo damage, acne scaring, and Melasma. The peel removes the dead skin cells on the upper, most damaged layers of skin leaving your skin smoother, fresher and more refined.
With little or no downtime the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance can improve the look and feel of your skin making it tighter, smoother and brighter looking. It achieves instant results after just 1 peel although for best results a series of 4-6 is most effective. You may experience mild peeling and redness following your peel.
5-7 days prior to a peel patients should avoid use of the following to the treatment area, electrolysis, laser hair removal and waxing.
Due to increased skin sensitivity patients should avoid the use of any topical retinoids, Tretinoin, topical acids or exfoliants for 3 days prior to the peel.
The use of a high level sunscreen to the treatment area is essential for at least a week following your peel. We recommend Obagi sunshield spf 50. The continued use of this product will protect your skin and maintain the benefits of the peel.
Your skin should be treated gently using gentle cleansers and no exfoliating products.
Can I still have a Blue Peel Radiance if i am using Obagi Nu-Derm?
Yes, the Obagi Nu-Derm will further enhance the effects of the peel. Patients not on the Nu-Derm system may optimise their peels by using the system 4-6 weeks prior to and and following their peel. The use of Tretinoin, Exfoderm and Exfoderm forte, and the hydroquinone containing products should not be used for 3 days prior to your peel.
Can I use the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance to improve the skin on my neck and décolletage?
Yes, the peel is suitable for use on the face, neck and décolletage The initial peel will be carried on your face to assess response to the peel more easily. Additional treatment areas would require a additional peel set therefore price would change accordingly. Due to the delicate nature of the skin around the neck and décolletage you can expect more redness which may take longer to subside.
